This expertise is manifested in the development of Blackthorn2, the premier GPS Forensics tool widely used throughout the world in both the government and commercial sectors. Berla Corp. offers training in GPS Forensics and is the sole provider of Certification for operators of Blackthorn2. While Blackthorn2 is optimized to acquire data from GPS devices, Blackthorn2 is equally suitable to import and examine data from other device types and sources. The unique reporting and mapping features offered by Blackthorn2 provide a wide set of options to meet the end customer’s objectives.
Berla Corp. provides forensic examination services for the recovery and analysis of geo-referenced data from numerous mobile device types and sources in support of investigations that include criminal, civil, internal and motor vehicle.
Initially, a digital forensic image of the device will be performed and then the data can be examined, analyzed and reported based upon the requirements of the requestor.
Information that can be acquired from our forensic examinations include, but is not limited to;
Retrieval of location data – waypoints, track points, routes and track logs
Analysis of speed, altitude, direction of travel
Time analysis
“Pattern of Life” information – a “history” of where the device was, when it was at those locations and other data factors that were stored by the device
